Our Hindustani
Vocal Curriculum
Classical music cannot be taught from a textbook — it must be felt, shaped, and guided. Every student at Abhigyanam gets a learning journey designed entirely around their own voice, goals, and pace. No two journeys look the same.
We don't follow a fixed curriculum — because every voice is unique. Your classes are fully tailored to your current level, learning pace, and artistic vision. You tell us where you want to go. We design the path.
We start with your current ability — not a textbook syllabus. Every lesson is calibrated to where you are, and evolves as you grow.
Move through ragas, taals, and vocal techniques at your own pace — no rush, no pressure, just consistent visible progress.
Pure classical, semi-classical, or devotional — we map the roadmap around your goals and keep you focused on them.
We never rush you to the next level. Strong fundamentals — sur, taal, and breath — are built into every step of your journey.
No rigid syllabus. Just pure, personalised Hindustani vocal mentorship — guided by your voice, shaped by your goals.
They Doubted Themselves.
Then They Started Singing.
These aren't trained musicians or performers. They're busy professionals, homemakers, and absolute beginners — just like you — who took one step. Watch what happened next.
My mentor proved me wrong in the very first class."

Yes, with live one-on-one instruction and proper audio setup, online classes are very effective. Our teachers provide real-time corrections, and recorded sessions help students practice at their own pace.
Hindustani classical music emphasizes deep improvisation within a raga framework, microtonal nuances (shruti), and a systematic progression from basic swaras to complex compositions. It builds a strong foundation for any musical style.
Classes cover swar sadhana (note practice), raga exploration, tala (rhythm) training, voice culture, and introductory theory. Advanced students also learn bandish, taans, and alaap. All ages receive personalized attention.
A harmonium or tanpura (digital app is fine) is helpful but not mandatory for beginners. You need a good internet connection, a device with camera, and a quiet space. Our teachers guide you on ideal setup.
Yes, we offer structured foundation courses for absolute beginners of all ages. The curriculum starts with basic swaras, simple compositions, and voice culture exercises to build confidence and interest.
Learning is a continuous journey. Basic proficiency in a few ragas can take 1-2 years with regular practice. Mastery evolves over decades, but students enjoy singing beautiful compositions from the very first months.
